Hi! I’m Rick Tang, a Year 13 IB student from Rangitoto College in Auckland, New Zealand. I’m particularly interested in mathematics, logic, physics, and problems that reward careful reasoning rather than memorisation. I enjoy competitions because they often turn familiar ideas into unfamiliar situations and force you to think from a different angle. I have participated in a range of mathematics, science, and reasoning competitions, including international logic competitions, and I especially enjoy comparing different approaches to the same problem. I hope to introduce more students to logic and reasoning challenges and show that they can be both intellectually demanding and genuinely fun, even without extensive prior competition experience.
